Job Title: Construction Field Technician (Natural Gas Pipeline)
Location: Holly Springs, GA
Reports To: Construction Manager
Purpose:
The Construction Field Technician provides project support by being the intermediary between work completed in the field and the billing department. This position is responsible for managing stored construction materials, tracking project production and schedule, composing as-builts, and ensuring customer contract compliance.
Scope & Responsibilities:
- Review daily field reports for accuracy to monitor project production and schedule
- Assist with material ordering, storing, and issuing to construction crews
- Balance jobs upon completion to ensure accurate billing (production, materials, adders)
- Assist with measuring and completing asbuilts upon project completion
- Assist with producing project billing package
- Provide preconstruction and postconstruction support to Construction Manager as needed
Requirements:
- Oneyear field experience in natural gas utility construction
- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid GA Driver’s License and clean MVR
- Must possess basic to intermediate knowledge of: MS Outlook, Word, Excel
- Good problemsolving and critical thinking skills
- Organization, time management, and prioritization abilities
- Strong communication skills, including active listening, speaking, and writing
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit or stand for four (4) hour periods of time
- Must be able to perform strenuous labor under poor or less than ideal field conditions
- Must be able to quickly move arms and legs and abdominal and lower back muscles
Preferred:
- Three (3) years’ field experience in the natural gas utility construction industry
- Experience measuring jobsite and working in TurboCAD
